Whatever you choose to do, remember to do it the same way on ALL of your planes. For example: All planes turn "ON" by pulling out(pushing in) or in some cases you may mount the switch directly to the side and then ALL should turn "ON" by sliding forward (backward) or UP (down). All mounted charging jacks should face the same way, wires forward or upward. Be consistant and you won't have to try to remember "How did I do this one?" Any openings should be in the non-exhaust side if at all possible of course.

The same even applies if you decide to color code your fuel lines. Consistancy is the key to avoiding errors. Well, one of them anyway.
Bruce has some wise words of wisdom. Always do things exactly the same on every airplane you own. Don't worry what others do, use your own system. As I said, all my switch jacks pull out for on. And for fuel tubing I always use pink for fuel pickup/delivery and blue for the vent/fill lines. Having routines can save your bacon sometimes. Trust me on this one!!!
