Default help with Dubro Kwik Switch/Charging Jack

Any advice on how to install the Dubro Kwik Switch/Charging Jack. Should the reciever turn on or off when you pull the switch out ?

Regards
Chris

chrisvau,
You're going to get answers for both ways to set it up. Some will say the prefer for the plane to be on with the switch pushed in, so that they can't accidentally turn off the plane by bumping the switch. Others will say that they prefer the plane to be on with the switch pulled out, so that they can see that the plane is one by looking at the switch. Whichever way you want to set it up will simply come down to a personal preference, it's really that simple. Me??? I prefer to have the switch pulled out to turn it on.

Hope this helps

Ken

Second that.. to pull out ON easier to land and push in to turn off and not forget too. Also I it put under the wing away from hitting it and on opposite side of exhaust. If you use a polarity plug I point it forward easy to remember when battery checking.

If you pull out to turn on, you don't have to worry about plane being accidentally turned on. Been there, done that, dead batteries at field!

Whatever you choose to do, remember to do it the same way on ALL of your planes. For example: All planes turn "ON" by pulling out(pushing in) or in some cases you may mount the switch directly to the side and then ALL should turn "ON" by sliding forward (backward) or UP (down). All mounted charging jacks should face the same way, wires forward or upward. Be consistant and you won't have to try to remember "How did I do this one?" Any openings should be in the non-exhaust side if at all possible of course.

The same even applies if you decide to color code your fuel lines. Consistancy is the key to avoiding errors. Well, one of them anyway.

Bruce has some wise words of wisdom. Always do things exactly the same on every airplane you own. Don't worry what others do, use your own system. As I said, all my switch jacks pull out for on. And for fuel tubing I always use pink for fuel pickup/delivery and blue for the vent/fill lines. Having routines can save your bacon sometimes. Trust me on this one!!!

all my pull switches push in on and all my switches mount opposite exhaust and the slide switches slide back on,i have had one accidentally turned off when it was sat on the runway when using a slide switch with slide forward on.and i agree no matter what your preference is always do them all the same on your planes.
