Default RE: Seagull Models EP Extra 300

Guys I couldnt resist. So I just bought one of these.

OH MY....

WOW what a plane. Ive never been impressed with the seagull models, but this thing is FANTASTIC. I think this is truly gonna be a winner. What a surprise.
Honestly this is on par with higher end micros like the Hyperion birds. The landing gears is a great design, but leaves me wanting more in the "asthetics" department.
Very clean, simple design. Very good classic extra looks. The covering is pretty good, tight, and clean. The turtledeck and aft cockpit deck is flawless....very well done.
I would recommend hitting everything you can reach with CA..it doesnt look like they even glued it.
The leading edge of the wing is just a stick of balsa, resulting in the odd stretched appearance of the leading edge. Its not really an issue unless your really picky, and really...you should be happy. It makes it MUCH lighter.
Im also extremely pleased to see a one piece elevator. No gluing reinforcements, elevator halves together, etc. Just hit the hinges with CA, and yer done.
Based on my initial views, I think they did some serious research with this plane, it seems to be VERY well thought out.

The cockpit design is probably the best Ive seen on any small electric kit. Super Secure latching system, Fliton and E-flite...take notice, Seagull did it right!... it even has the nice added touch of realism by them placing a full color instrument panel inside the canopy. Sweet.

Oh, and they also included a removable battery tray. Rubberband the battery to the tray, and then you can just take the tray in and out with one screw, vs velcro straps everywhere.

Wing area is generous, and surfaces are large, which should equal good 3D performance. I have a feeling that roll rates are going to be insane. LOTS of expo on this one.

The plane goes together in a very short amount of time. A single evening is all you need. Even the most newb pilot could build this in a evening. Piece o cake.

Here's the list of equipment I am putting in mine.
E-flite 480 brushless
E-flite 40A esc
VampowerPacks 11.1V 2250mah lipo
Hitec 05S rx
Futaba 3110's all around.

Looking forward to flying it this weekend.
