SHAMELESS PROMOTIONAL POST: (but all in good fun)

Aren't ya'll sorry you didn't attend instead, the Midwest Multi-Engine Fly, in Ames, Iowa Sept. 16??

Mild 82 degrees, excellent BBQ with no lines, everybody polite and helpful, and certainly no transmitter impound problems (with only 14 pilots and our most authoritative club members manning the booth).

Did I mention the wind gusting to 42 mph straight down the north-south runway?

Only the most skilled and courageous pilots flew in that wind, but there were no crashes and only one bad landing.

Any multi-engine plane welcome, but large military planes drew the most attention, and yes, Frank flew his B-17.
Three P-38's flew, two of them well.

Twin Synch donated one of their units as the drawing grand prize, and we gave away a SeaGull Dual Ace, as well.

Pictures to follow.

See ya there 2007!
