Default RE: Finding a flight instructor???

Call the club president and find out when their next meeting is and then attend the meeting. Pay the membership dues and then ask for the names of their instructors. There will probably be some at the meeting that you can speak with and find the one you feel most comfortable with, this will help alot. When you call the club president ask if they are a sanctioned AMA club. You should join AMA anyway but most likely they will require that you be a member. If you can't get a phone number for the club president go out to the flying field in the morning and there will probably be someone there if it's nice out. Ask him what the presidents name is and see if he has his number. If not just ask him when the next meeting is. If it's nice out there will probably be several flyers at the field. Retired members love to fly in the early morning because the wind is calmer!
