You said that after it rained you liked the way your car felt. That probaly means you have under steer problems. You will want to lower your car body, have you shocks soft, use a negitive chamber, front tires at toe-out, and a set of slick or super slick tires. The stock Tamiya is a 1/2 slick tire, best for control but you want a better slide right? If so You might have to give up some control, but if you liked drifting after a rain super slicks should sute you.
