The Goldberg Cubs are really good planes. We have had several at the field and they fly great and are durable. I haven't heard any bad comments about them.

I'm more of a sport/aerobatics/fun fly flyer than a scale enthusiast. I built a couple Goldberg Cubs from kits and flew them for a few years. I like hot rodding them. Yeah, I know, all of the scale purists just wretched...<G>
The Goldberg Cub has strip ailerons, which are my preference, though not scale-like at all. I like strips better because of less chance of flutter. This model does amazingly well in informal club fun fly events, if powered with a large engine. While I really like the full sized J-3, the last thing that I want to fly as a model is one that flies like the real J-3. YMMV
