Default RE: first warbird

ORIGINAL: sokrdz

that are rtf 4ch warbirds
The H9 P-51 PTS is rtf 4 ch....and can be easily made a 5ch(working flaps). This is a great plane, especially as a first warbird. Despite what someone else said....do NOT remove the flywheel. Its purpose is stable idling and maintaining correct RPM. Fly it as is out of the box first. Anyone telling you to remove the flywheel has a lot more experience flying warbirds and planes in general then someone who's asking about a 1st warbird choice. Then install flap servo, fly again. Get comfortable, then remove wing droops. Fly a lot more. Change prop from 10x4x3 to 10x7 or 11x7x3 (Master Airscrew makes great 3 blade props). A 10x7x3 should fit the stock spinner fine. I put a TruTurn P-51 style spinner on mine and installed an 11x7x3 MAS. For speed, use a 2-blade prop.
