If you go fuel, the Hangar 9 P-51 PTS is it. Just take all the training junk off it, the flywheel weight off the prop hub, ad a 11-5 or so apc,and spinner, and it'll fly like crazy. E-flite, just try a Parkzone P51, or FW-190, both are a blast to play with, I love the 190 on a low fly-by.

The H9 P-51 PTS is rtf 4 ch....and can be easily made a 5ch(working flaps). This is a great plane, especially as a first warbird. Despite what someone else said....do NOT remove the flywheel. Its purpose is stable idling and maintaining correct RPM. Fly it as is out of the box first. Anyone telling you to remove the flywheel has a lot more experience flying warbirds and planes in general then someone who's asking about a 1st warbird choice. Then install flap servo, fly again. Get comfortable, then remove wing droops. Fly a lot more. Change prop from 10x4x3 to 10x7 or 11x7x3 (Master Airscrew makes great 3 blade props). A 10x7x3 should fit the stock spinner fine. I put a TruTurn P-51 style spinner on mine and installed an 11x7x3 MAS. For speed, use a 2-blade prop.

Your best bet is Parkzone. A rtf 4ch elec warbird is really a tall order.

Ummmm nope!!!

Look here:
Venom P-51 4 channel. If you have a 4 ch radio already, only need that and a lipo battery. The brushless engine, speed control, servos are all already installed.

video here of both the Zero and the P-51

There are also places that do sell a modifed version of the GWS Spitfire ready to fly with everything including a TX on ebay:

Its a decent plane. It can be made 4 channel....it is a little heavy on the stock 480 brushed motor. You should consider upgrading that to a brushless motor. If you've never flown a low wing bird before....have someone else that has much more experience(an instructor) test fly it for you and trim it out. Low wing planes have a tendency to tip stall on low speed, so you have to keep up some speed while flying. Practice on a SIM, but, no sim is like real life.

If you are looking for a small electic, RTF out of the box, I went with the Park Zone FW190. It flys pretty good with the installed equipment and comes with a 3 channel transmitter.

I've just finished replacing the servos and receiver in mine so I can fly it off my regular radio. If you want to see what I changed out, have a look at my models.

Do a search for e-flite p-47. You'll get several threads where youi can read up on what others have done and what they say to do or dont do.
