RE: Zama or Walbro, which is better?
Hey, sorry from bringing this thread back from the dead.
I'm the guy who last year posted up pictures of a scooter I'd built myself, and mounted a 25cc Homelite motor on.
Well, I'd say this season I've only put about 60-100 miles on it (been very busy with work and school; it's not used for transportation -- just fun)
Well, I got myself two spare HomeLite motors, however, none of them came with working carburetors. (one of them had a shattered primer bulb, the other Zama one is clogged internally, and I'm not good with carburetors).
I'm currently running the stock Walbro carb which came with the 25CC Homelites on my scooter, and am satisfied with it.
I was wondering, what is the model code of this carburetor (I know it's on the inside of the intake, but, I'd rather not pull the intake and have to buy new gaskets and all).
Secondly, the motor is pretty well stock, and, I run it quite hard, and wouldn't mind some additional power. If there were another carburetor I could buy (e.g I'd heard of 11 mm carbs being used, and a WT-476 or something) which would give me a boost in power, I'd be happy with that too. If you guys have the proper model numbers I should be looking for, or, even better, have one of the carbs for sale, that'd be great.
