Just my experience, but it's difficult to be specific for that one--we're entering the realms of "how it feels" rather than measurement--and other factors such as elevator throw and expo come in.
Again,just what I have found, but I find the 45-line thing easier for pattern planes, and the inverted one the best for3D,where some slight element of climb-when- inverted may help.
Fortunately, pattern planes, with their long moment arm, are quite tolerant of exact C.of G. position---they'll fly pretty well(say)1/2" either way, and it's down to personal preference and quite a few flights before the individual pilot's optimal position is set.
