If you don't need the head in the future, and don't mind carving it up a bit, just trim it down to the size that you need using a hack-saw. Then clean up the rough edges with some sandpaper or a bench-top belt sander. This is what i did on one of my rossi's. The best is to find a small head, but if you can't, this should get you going.
