Default RE: World Models fuel line

ORIGINAL: rcluver

Hey all,
Quick question. Has anyone else had any problems with World Models fuel lines? My problem has been inside the fuel tank, from the clunk to carb. Happened again today, range check, fill tank, start motor, warm up, take off, fly for about three minutes, engine dies, make dead stick landing. This on a Super Sport 40, first time on a Sky raider. Problem is, thin fuel line that splits where you push it on the metal tube. Solution, don't use fuel tubing that comes with fuel tank. This has been the only problem I have had with World Models planes. I have five of them and they are all great flyers. Just thought I'd pass this along, you will know when it happens, cause you can't pump any remaining fuel out of the tank.

And the funny thing is, the manufacturers appear to think that we do not notice these things....<G>

Something like this can sour a buyer's opinion of a particular brand of product in a hurry.

Fortunately, I seldom use any of the junk that manufacturers provide with their models. I have my old standards that I use with lots of success.
