Your right about the Avistar.
I got mine for $250.00 because TH had a $15.00 discount plus I had a $10.00 coupon so for $250.00 plus $8.00 I received a RTF very nice looking plane.
Most of TH RTF planes come through with poor covering application and I think they just unload them cheap because of that.
But on my old beat up trainer I removed all the covering and now covering the entire wing with paper thin sheet balsa.
Also the trainers have a super fat leading edge.
Any way you look at it, the trainer and the Avistar give you more bang for your buck.
Out of the box and an a couple of hours to set the throws and double check everything and your flying
