This is very typical of all Kyosho heli's from the original Concept to the Concept SRX and through the Nexus and VR lines. No 30 class heli on the market has a driven tail stock, except the new Caliber. All 30 class heli's have had bad mufflers except for the new Caliber. The use of shorter blades on the previous Kyosho's is due to the wied spacing of the blade grips which is a result of the flapping head design. The actual rotor diameter is not that much small than any other 30 on the market. The VR line has larger parts than the SRX line it replaces and we all know a well set up SRX is still one of the best flying heli's in the 30 class. BTH I have a Rappy metal clutch bell that melted and I have never seen a Kyosho plastic one melt.
