Default RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

I have a Quique Yak, a Goldberg Ex-treme profile, a Funtana 100x, a U-Can-Do, a 1/3 scale Cap, and several electric foamies. I also own 3 Twists. I will be the first one to admit that the Twist is not the easiest plane to 3D. That is exactly what I love about the Twist, and why I fly it more than any of those other planes.

You see, the Twist takes a good 100 flights to figure out how to hover. It does want to drop off one way or the other without perfect rudder and elevator management. Once you get it down, it is a real thrill to hold a 30 second hover no sweat. It is much like flying a heli, tiny movements when needed, and drastic corrections when needed.

I almost feel like I am cheating when I take out the Goldberg profile and hover it almost hands off. It get's boring after a while. The same holds true for other manuevers as well. It takes some mad skills to pull of a pretty knife edge with this beast of a Twist, but it is quite a thrill when you learn to pull it off second nature.

The deal is we like flying the heck out of our $90 planes, and we make them look like $300 3D machines. There is a novelty to it. It is great to hand the sticks off to a guy who is a whiz with a Mojo, and watch him try and hover my Twist (personal experience).

I have to admit it hurts my pride a little to have you guys come in to a thread where we we are singing the praises of our favorite plane, and have you say it is not even a real plane. There is a real tone of talking down in your posts. I am not sure you guys are intending it, but cheering on the destruction of a plane we own and love, and saying it is not even a real plane right here on a thread made up mostly of people who like them, seems like a slap in the face. I think that is why you are seeing the responses you are out of guys.

We are not all beginners who foolishly think this is the best plane since sliced bread. I personally have logged hundreds of flights on many planes, and several guys here have been flying for 20 plus years.

I can tell you for sure if I went on the Funtana 100x thread and said the plane sucks, is a trainer, and wasn't a real plane, there would be some angry guys over there. I would never do that because I respect those guys, and their choice of a favorite plane. You guys have hurt some feelings here, and I just don't see why you chose to do so.
