Hello
I wanted to follow up on one kit imparticular. I recently purchased your NEW YAK 52 ARF --
http://www.nitroplanes.com/yak523d5056n.html --, when I opened the box and removed the Cowl I noticed that it was severely cracked and chipped. I called you the same day that the kit was delivered actually about 30 minutes after it was delivered. I talked with one of your sales persons regrading this. He informed me that he would have a service rep give me a call back ASAP. Well after 4 days I called back this time only to get a answering machine. I left a message at that time stating the issue again. I then sent an E-mail re addressing the issue. By this time I had started building the kit as I did not need the cowl in order to put together the plane at that point. Well 2 more phone and 3 more E-mail messages later I still had not heard back. Then on the 10th day after my 1st call I was able to make contact with your company by phone. This time I demanded to speak with some one regarding my issue. The service guy old me that you do not carry parts for your planes and the only way I would be able to get a cowl is if someone sent their plane back as a return and then you could SELL me not replace a cowl. He then offered me a $15 refund (very insulting) I informed him that I had paid for a new plane and that I wanted what I paid for. He then said I could ship the kit back at my cost and he would issue a refund for the kit only.. This is absurd. I paid $30 to get it shipped to me plus another $30 or $40 for me to send it back and then get a refund for a $120.. I still ask that you make my order right. I have built the kit with the crushed/repaired cowl. But would still like a new one for aesthetic reasons.
Also unrelated to the above issue, what are you doing about the defective tail on this plane. Luckily I was able to land mine after it failed but I know that there are others on here that have not been so lucky. Also the fuel tank used in this plane is defective. The plastic splits down the seam with almost no pressure from the cap area. There are several threads here on RCU regarding these issues. The TAIL is a major issue. NO ONE should attempt to fly this plane how it comes out of the box. The balsa is very soft at the center section and there are no gussets at the glue points. With as much elevator as this plane has you must re-enforce it with flying wires and extra wood at the fues meeting points and the spar leading and trailing edge points... Please fix these two areas before someone gets hurt. I know it is the consumers responsibility to make sure any plane is air worthy before he or she attempts to fly but in this case the balsa used by the kit builder is bad..
Thank You
