use an 8T pinion....I think you will find that with the 8T pinion you will get more headspeed. I have the eflite 4100kv brushless and I get more headspeed with my 8T pinion. My guess is with your 9T your not getting enough torque. Using the 8T will get you more torque so you can hold that higher RPM easier.
