RE: Glenn Torrence (GTM) 1/3 Scale Dr.1 Build Along
Bud.....Thanks for the comment, the Dr.1 in the picture is a BUSA kit kicked up a notch. I copied Glenn's wing tip skids and also the tail skid. Did not bungie the main gear but wish I had. May do that over the winter. It weighs 15lb dry and is powered by an older OS 160 twin. Flies nice and scale like at about 1/2 throttle. It flies like a dream.
Don.....Waiting on Glenn to catch up, after Rhinebeck he had to put in some extra time with his day job, (I think some trips were involved.)
Last I talked to him he was trying to get finished up on the DVI and was going to get started on the top wing for the Dr.1. One of big things he was looking into was designing the wing attachments to make the field set up and takedown and also transportation as easy and simple as possable and still keep the scale integrity of the model.
I'm ready when he is.
