IMO a "professional" run in is a waste. I have run in about 20 or 30 engine and have never had a problem. I have also used differing techniques and to be honest I can't see any difference. As 46u said, run it in per the instructions and you be fine. Just try not to over or underheat your engine during break in. Having said that I overheated the engine in my nitro hammer during break in (LSN almost closed from the factory and I didn't check) and out of the three hammers in my area mine is the fastest. Even beats a friends with a tuned pipe.
