yes they usually overlap when all pictures/sketches are unsupressed or unhidden. what i have done is to draw lines at their extreme ends so i can size them all equally. from there, i toggle between hidden and unhidden depending on the view and side of the aircraft i am drawing in detail. using surface lofts also usually achieves finer blends than trying to create the model with solid lofts. u can then thicken the model to any sheeting you want. i am new to surfaces but i find the idea and work environment less rigid than using solid lofts with numerous control curves.

these fellows seem to be solidworks gurus....perhaps they'd be kind enough to drop u mail if the tutorials don't help ya. they have a beautiful f-15 model which u can use as an example:
