Default RE: Worth Fixing?

Well, I say it depends. Are you into the whole building thing? Or do you just prefer to get out and fly? For people who don't really care where their plane comes from or what it looks like, then arfs are the way to go. Otherwise go ahead and rebuild it.

You are looking at probably 2-3 weekends worth of work, maybe more depending on if you have done anything with balsa before and how much time you put into it at a sitting. Your probably going to have to make a design for the tail yourself if you don't find any pictures/plans for it online.

If you do decide to do it, let me know. I have a trainer on the boards that I am doing some repair work on that has all the covering stripped off of and if you need it I will take pictures of the tail for you. That with a little input from other guys here should make it fairly painless (assuming the #11 doesn't slip).

Let us know and good luck.

I always prefer building. I am more comfortable knowing that every glue join in my plane is solid and that any weak points in the design were fixed during construction. Also makes it easier to repair if something breaks. Repairing a plane that you didn't build and have no plans for is very hard. Thats the reason why most guys that buy arfs just toss them after they take what can be a very minor wreck.
