That's a good tip about keeping delicate electronics away from charging lead/acid batteries DT. The fumes given off are also explosive. I found out the hard way when I was trying to attach jumper cables to a rock crusher battery. The connection arced and blew the top out of the battery. Chunks of battery top peppered my face. I had safety glasses on so my eyes were spared.
