Default RE: KYOSHO edge 540

rapman,
I'm sorry to say my edge has taken a dirt nap! all the controls locked up on a flight and it went in at 3/4 throttle straight down. not sure if it was my receiver or if someone was on my channel. the rudder system seemed fine for the plane though. in one of the earlier posts the first picture shows the small piece of alum. that I used to connect the elevator halfs. I did have to dremel away a good piece of the fuse. to allow for it's travel. 2 servos small servos would work also.
tornet,
I too thought it would be neat to have something a little bigger in electric. and it is much more money than a 3 cell set up. I used the 5245's and they are more than enough. I would think the 225's would work just fine. since it's electric the servo's take far less abuse than a glow or gas plane. I've seen a few people using them in E-planes this size. to power my rx I didn't have to use a ubec or another battery. the new jeti spin bec's have a built in ubec that can handle the additional cell counts of the bigger batteries. don't forget it's not a huge plane and adding a additional battery will be making it tight.
I had 2 batteries for my plane till it crashed. 3700 5 cell and a 6 cell 4000mah. the only part I didn't like about flying the plane was changing the batteries. taking the canopy off then manipulating the pack in place and velcroing it in just right was a bit cumbersome. but doable.
good luck with your new planes!
steve.
