Why not go with Koverall on the entire plane?
After I posted, I was thinking I should have mentioned this, too. Koverall goes over sheeted areas with no problems and then your entire finish is consistent. Scale, as well if that matters to you...

I was thinking that, too. I think there's plenty of opportunity to cut some lightening holes in the fuse sides aft of the wing, which I couldn't do if fiberglassing.
