Default RE: Feul filler ...

In my opinion the fuel dots are one of the best inventions around. I have them fitted to nearly all of my planes and have never had a problem with one.

I usually connect mine with a second "clunk" in the tank - this is so that I can drain the tank fully at the end of the day with ease. The exception to this is in my 3D planes because I am concerned that the two clunks will interfere with each other (I don't know if this is an issue or not).

Usually you can access the muffler pressure tap to remove the line when fuelling - if not, a simple tee piece from that line to a second dot will allow you to tell when the tank is full. I know some people that simply fuel their planes until fuel flows from the muffler. they usually have Pitts style mufflers and the pressure tap is below the exhaust outlet of the engine.

I usually mount my fuel dots on the cowling in a convenient place. You can cut off some of the excess length, as long as the seating area for the "O" ring lock is retained. I also use 3 different colored fuel lines Red for the exhaust line, Clear for the supply line to the carb and green for the filler line.
