Well for the plane id suggest the tower trainer 40MKII 4-Channel RTF. I'd suggest buying it directly from tower hobbies though instead at: www.towerhobbies.com that way someone cant sell you something on ebay that might not have everything you are supposed to get. also at towerhobbies they have gift things for certain amounts you spend, so that helps, like for example you spend 200 you get $15 back or something like that. they are reliable and back their products, and the price is good for a beginner plane that is a trainer like the tower trainer 40. It may cost a bit more initially but its well worth it and will work great for you and your boyfriend.
