Good job Harry. My (second) greatest fear concerning these things is that I'll kill someone's cat or dog with it. I've read some horror stories on these threads, and I've thought about it, and I've decided that I must be prepared to do the same thing you did--get some distance quickly and crashland if necessary. You might need to stop the rotor fast, the only way is to crash deliberately.
Having the plan beforehand might save me a few seconds. But I hope I never need to find out.
