Default RE: Super Tiger 51

Just came in from the garage where I tacked the little 51. WOW!!is all I think of to say. I went into my prop box thinking I would find a 12X6 APC but there were none to be found but I did find a new Master Airscrew 12X6 K Series with those wide blades made for 4 strokes. I started not to put it on but went ahead anyway. You should see the little enging with that big ole black prop on the front of. I makes the think look like a little 10 or 15 size engine sitting on the front of the Ultra Stick. Having a little spare time this evening I decided to fuel it up and give it a try. To my surprise the thing like to hit 11,000. It was running at 10,800+ running sobbering rich. I didn't lean it up any to check max rpms becuse the engine still is breaking in. It is so rich when you take of it want to four stroke for a little while but leans up in the air. I'M sure if I leaned the needle it would hit 11 thousand. Needless to say I was totally amazed. I bought a
5 pack of those Master Airscrew 12X6 a few years ago when I had a Saito 65 and have since sold the engine. I was beginning to think I would never have another engine that would pull that size prop but now I will be getting some use out of at least one of them. I know that 10,800 may be a little low in the power band but I am convinced it will pull it in the air. The engine doesn't seem to mind pulling these larger props one bit.
