I raced the Associated 12I when they first came out in the mid 80s.
1/12 scale, no suspension. I dont recall 1/10 scale been available. Certainly not in NZ at that time. Everyone was racing the 12I.
Electronic speed controllers were fairly new, but too expensive for me.
Car was $200NZD at the time. Quite pricey. Now cheaper plastic designs or very expensive TRF etc $1000NZD + for the car without body, motor or speed controller. Thats serious racing.
Also raced the 1/10 electric Tamiya Frog when it was first released.
