I've tried the same thing, only got soaked to the skin when the mist turned into an allout downpour while I was in the air. I lucked out and got it down in one piece (just dumb luck). It wasn't a pretty landing by any stretch of the imagination, but it served the purpose. Of course I got drenched in the process and caught h*** from my better half when I got home, but all in all, it was worth it for the two flights I did get in before the clouds opened up. The plane (a GP Fun One) didn't seem any the worse for the experience.
