maybe your truck is leaking fuel through the lid on the fuel tank? how does the oring look? smooth and seals well? If it has a leak the tank won't build up pressure to push the fuel to the carb. Also chech the fuel line between the tank and the pipe, mack sure the ends aren't loose and are sealing well.
