I recently got a Blade CX2 and I have acouple questions......i've flown it three times so far and i've noticed that when i'm hovering the tail has twitched violently....mind you this has only happened twice outta three flights and happened for about a second........I haven't adjusted my GAIN or POTS yet but i'm assuming it might have sumthing to do with the GAIN.....the second thing I noticed is that when I go FULL throttle or ALMOST full throttle the green status light on the 4 in 1 turns red.....could sumone with experience with this bird or similiar please answer these questions for me as i'm in Jamaica and had the Blade imported as there are NO hobby shops or support out here for me to learn from.
I don't know if this is a factor or not - and I'm sure not going to say that davewithx is wrong. I'll just add a couple of thoughts. First, electrical surge caused by magic or something. I have had my heli sitting on the floor armed and ready and if I reach for it, one of the motors will spin. Only for a tenth of a second, but it's an electrical glitch coming from static electricity or something. It has happened several times to me. If you were hovering and that same 'glitch' happened, you might see a tail twitch like you describe. That's just something to consider. And I don't know that there is anything you can do about it.
As far as the green light turning red, mine has always done that also. If I have to add enough power to fly that the light turns red, then I charge the battery. But I do fly mine sort of rough and I frequently blast the power and the LED turns red for a second, then returns to green. It doesn't seem to hurt it.
While we are talking about new items, There is a post from a guy named Bill and his new heli. He broke a blade and now his 4 in 1 doesn't work. Something that is not stressed enough in the owner's manual is how fragile the 4 in 1 is. Remember to ALWAYS give up when you know you are going to crash. Shut off the throttle just before impact. DON'T EVER allow the motors to try to turn when they can't. That 4 in 1 takes all of the current for the motors and it gets hot. It will be damaged in just a second of full power with the blades stuck. Since you are so far away from a parts store, you really do want to ventilate the cockpit and the case for the 4 in 1. Several of the guys have written about how that's done. And if you search my posts you will read about it again. And ventilate the 4 in 1 case. And add the heat sinks and heat sink compound. It all makes a difference.
The CX is a great little heli and it's pretty rugged, but the electrics are heat sensitive. Where you are, the motors are pretty warm just sitting on a shelf, so you need to add as much cooling as you can.
Good Luck and best wishes.
