I recently got a Blade CX2 and I have acouple questions......i've flown it three times so far and i've noticed that when i'm hovering the tail has twitched violently....mind you this has only happened twice outta three flights and happened for about a second........I haven't adjusted my GAIN or POTS yet but i'm assuming it might have sumthing to do with the GAIN.....the second thing I noticed is that when I go FULL throttle or ALMOST full throttle the green status light on the 4 in 1 turns red.....could sumone with experience with this bird or similiar please answer these questions for me as i'm in Jamaica and had the Blade imported as there are NO hobby shops or support out here for me to learn from.

As far as the green light turning red, mine has always done that also. If I have to add enough power to fly that the light turns red, then I charge the battery. But I do fly mine sort of rough and I frequently blast the power and the LED turns red for a second, then returns to green. It doesn't seem to hurt it.
While we are talking about new items, There is a post from a guy named Bill and his new heli. He broke a blade and now his 4 in 1 doesn't work. Something that is not stressed enough in the owner's manual is how fragile the 4 in 1 is. Remember to ALWAYS give up when you know you are going to crash. Shut off the throttle just before impact. DON'T EVER allow the motors to try to turn when they can't. That 4 in 1 takes all of the current for the motors and it gets hot. It will be damaged in just a second of full power with the blades stuck. Since you are so far away from a parts store, you really do want to ventilate the cockpit and the case for the 4 in 1. Several of the guys have written about how that's done. And if you search my posts you will read about it again. And ventilate the 4 in 1 case. And add the heat sinks and heat sink compound. It all makes a difference.
The CX is a great little heli and it's pretty rugged, but the electrics are heat sensitive. Where you are, the motors are pretty warm just sitting on a shelf, so you need to add as much cooling as you can.
Good Luck and best wishes.

Thanks for the replies and answers guys.........firstly.......the glitch u speak of POSSIBLE could have been cause by sum power wires that were pretty near by when i was hovering......i'm testing today in a more isolated area to troubleshoot.....i'm goin to turn the gain down until i seem the tail wag disappear......i've actually been on this site for alittle while now and have tried to learn as much as possible before i actually got the Blade CX2.....i made sure to get a bunch of spare parts and i've fused the motors to try and protect the 4 in 1 as much as possible.....will be doin the cooling mod as soon as I get sum more batteries and will be doin more sustained flights......the issue regarding the status light turning from green to red....it happens once i go full or almost full throttle and stays that way until i back off the throttle.....jus wanted to kno if this happened to anyone else and wasn't a defect in my 4 in 1.

The red light is exactly what you think it is.
When full available power is being sent to the motors, the light turns red.
You'll notice on the other Eflite helis as you move up, when you switch into idle up, that light almost always immediately turns to red (Depending on your TCM ADJ setting, but thats another story).
If you see the red light and the heli is not gaining altitude normally, it's time ti cut it off and let the battery cool before you recharge again!
The tail twitching is almost certainly the Gyro gain, interference is not really possible (though not IMpossible, either) on the redundant radio system in the CX2.

Hey shamos, if youre learning you're gonna break some parts in the process also. in 2 weeks ive been to the hobby shop bout 3 times already. i recommend you look at a good online hobby shop that you can order from, get the aluminum inner shaft for sure and a few sets of blades, ebay is also good. i know shipping those items internationally will cost some more but the parts are light. ive taken mine completely apart twice and once you can do that you feel more confident and not so terrified of crashing. i have family in manchester by the way.

Thanks Raychristofer.......well i'm a Technical person by nature and profession and i researched this little baby for months before deciding to purchase.....i've already fused the motors to protect the 4 in 1, modded the TX and removed all springs and the throttle notch and i knew that the stock plastic head was a weak point so i got an alum head and inner shaft along with the alum bearing holder in my parts collection.....i've got 5 packs of upper and 5 packs of lower blades and three packs of skids.......i made sure to get enough of the things that, from my research, tend to break most often.....i'll be adding a spare servo, extra battery packs, carbon tail-boom, VORTEX outter and inner shafts and an alum lower rotor head to my future parts/upgrade list.......i actually tore my bird completely down the first night i got it to check all parts and tolerances to be sure nothing was damaged intransit to Jamaica and lubed all joints.......i did sum adjusting and tweaking of the GAIN and POTS and she's as stable as ever......all i can say about the Blade cx series is that dollar for dollar u can't beat them and i've already gotten sum frens of mine interested in the hobby and they're now arranging to get the CX2 themselves....looks like i've started sumthing here [8D]. Thanks for all the help and info guys and keep those vids coming.
