I should be getting updates and progress reports from the QC checker soon. He gets he tank in and completely disassembles it then reassembles it to make sure all the bugs and kinks are out of it before it goes on to the customer. Unfortunately it still means i wont see it until the middle/end of january. It has to go from the UK to Utah.
i too am interested in 1/6 tanks and i,m in the early stages of buying.i have a question for you about the one you ordered.why did you go with this brand? i myself would have issue about buying a product ,then having to send it to be dissassembled .are they in that bad of shape from uk that they have to be torn down and rebuilt.it infers that one could buy it from the maker and have a lot of problems, then have to return it to the uk
The tank actually goes to the UK from russia. The distributor in the UK has his own standards that he likes to keep. This sometimes requires a complete disassembly. He also has a lifetime warranty on the tank so if it breaks from NORMAL use it will be fixed for free. Considering my Leopard is the first one out after the prototype model he wants to make sure there are no hidden glitches. This distributor also has an excellent track record and customer service history. If you would like to learn more he has his own forums where questions can be answered more completely. He also has a writeup on his sales site of the kind of QC checks performed. He just wants to be sure that he gives the best product he can. I have seen his tanks in person and i can say that the quality is high and must be seen to be believed. Also like any model its only as good as the effort put into it.
Heres some more pictures he sent me showing the internal arrangement of the batteries and ESC components.
