I believe Matt had stated in the JC forum that the igniter is good for about 100 - 150 starts. About $1.20 to $1.80 per start. Probably only about twice as much as gas and glow plugs but it's easier on the pocket to keep a few bottles of powermax and a couple glow plugs in your tool box than a spare $180.00 kero igniter. JMO.
