Default H9 Taylorcraft

They are just over 1" just enough to catch and then pull tight.
Are you making any changes to you Taylorcraft? This is actually my 3rd one. First one set up like my 3rd Saito 182 twin but I only had 1 battery and I didn't secure the lead so it disconnected mid flight and had a tragic ending. I bought my 2nd from member of my local clug with a G23. It couldn't get out of its own way. Terrible combination. Hangar 9 and Saito both replaced plane and motor of first one and that is what I am flying now.
