Default RE: SuperVee Glitching Problems

I have the same radio in my profisherman bass boat and have terrible glitching and range problems with it. I tried things like putting the receiver in aluminum foil and wrapping aluminum foil around the outboard cowl in hopes to reduce the electrical noise from the motor. None of this made any difference. I know of someone who took the radio system out of the bass boat and tried it in another model and it wasn't as bad. I think it's particulary bad in the bass boat probably because the motor is so close to the antenna wire. The only solution to the radio problem in the bass boat is to replace it which I'm doing this winter.

I believe the problem with this radio is very limited range. The signal from the transmitter is not very strong and if the model is more than about 25 feet away the electrical interference in the model picked up by the rx becomes very significant compared with transmitter's signal causing the model to glitch. Having new high quality batteries in the transmitter improves things but limited range and glitching are still a major problem.
