Default RE: my project

First off, what scale? If you build the scorpion, you might want to consider 1/6 scale.

I was part of an Army/USMC test team in the early 1980's that tested the Scorpion along side several other candidate Light Armored Vehicles -- we chose the Canadian 8X8, which is in USMC service now -- the Scorpion was a really cool LAV but didn't quite meet the full requirements for transporting troops... it was fun to drive and made for a great recon vehicle. Brits did a great job, as they do with all their armored vehicles...

If it were me, I'd go for the Elefant in 1/6 since I prefer the older, WWII era vehicles. It's also one of the heaviest armor vehicles ever produced, next to the King Tiger and the Mousse. If you have access to a machine shop, go with metal hull and turret, etc. -- find some heavy duty Pittman motors, etc. and go for it!

Cheers...
