Zonda, I know you said you are considering a starter box.....
Don't even think about it, just go get one. I've rebuilt pullstarts, replaced oneway bearings and have had two different types of shaft starter systems. I probably spent over $100 just on non-starter box options. I got an Ofna ChromeTop starterbox off Ebay for $55 and it was the best $55 I've spent in this hobby. I wish I had one from the beginning.
