The sound level is not any different then before. I have run both the long and short pipe on this OS.91 VRDF and the sound is the same and the top end performance seems to be the same. I have not tached it so this is just a guess. But you have to love how small and manageable this pipe is.

The only thing that I have found with this pipe is that the exhaust outlets need to be 1-2 degrees turned in. If not some of the exhaust is going against the outer ring of the pod versus through the fan like the long pipe does. Aside from that this pipe is awesome no fuss with it once installed.
