you might have 3-4 hours in building one of these kits. seeing that you are mechanically inclined, i don't think you would have any trouble. the SS kit directions are a breeze. there are no words, but, if you can basically read a blueprint, or look at pictures, you can do it. don't let it intimidate you. all it is assembling screws to plastic and some metal. it's easy. best thing about it is, you will know how it goes together by building the kit. which leads to being easier to disassemble and repair if you have to.

for the ss kit, you will need a CA glue to glue the tires. but, i recommend better tires if you are going to race. the basic tools are included along with diff grease, thread lock, and shock oil. your basic #2 phillips screwdriver is needed. if you were to have a better set of allen wrenches that would be a plus. the ones that come with the kit are small in length. a little difficult to get any torque.
