Default RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying

Yeah - the last Cap I owned was the 60" Hangar 9 Sport Cap -had a OS .61FX in it. Plane flew great - I'd buy another one if I could find one. I know Minicraft still makes the plane under their own name, but no US distributors.

The KE coupling is something I'll have to mix out, but every cap I've flown that had a relatively scale elevator line seems to do it. Figures I lost my 60" in KE flight - dumb thumbed it in when it rolled to the canopy more than expected.

How is this plane on landing? I had a CMP 73" giles 202 with a 26cc Brillelli in it - the stock carbon gear was prone to breaking, so I substituted Cap-X gear as did many others with that airframe. It weighed about 12.3 lbs and when it landed, it just stuck - rarely bouncing. I liked that, even on a hot landing, it just stuck, slowed down and rolled out nicely.
