Quickie 500
I recently bought an old "quickie 500." (or that is what the guy seed it was" He bought it in a bulk buy some time last year. Hes seed "as is" the plain is flyable but a little nose heavy for some maneuvers (bought it as a second plain/sport/combat/beater plain). He also did not know the recommended "control throws." (seed as i fly I will get a feel for CG and control throws.) Tonight I checked all screws , cleaned every inch of mono-cote, and set the control throws. If weather permits I will be flying tomorrow.
I really guessed at the angle of the control throws (used ~the same angle as my PTS P-51) and added -25% expo for low rates and gave all surfaces ~45* throw with 50% expo for high rates. Dose this seam reasonable for the first flight? Ill up date tomorrow after flight.
