Default RE: engine cut off

ORIGINAL: johntammi

I mentioned in another thread that I had seen bubbles in my fuel lines before the engine cut off at 1/2 throttle. I took my tank out on a alpha trainer 40 with a evo .46 rtf. The tank has two brass fittings going thru the rubber cork. One fitting has a 3" tube with a clunk on the end, the other fitting is brass continuing at an angle towards the bottom of the tank about 1 3/4 inch long. The fuel line with clunk should go to carb and the other to exhaust, right?
It looks like I can fit some foam below the tank and possibly the sides. The tank presently sits on two balsa shelves, front and rear.
Any suggestions to help me figure this out.
Thanks for your patience.
John
The tube you say is pointed toward the tank bottom is supposed to point toward the top. Make sure this isn't a simple mistake in your interpretation. If you are correct 2 things will happen.
1. You will NOT get a full tank before the fuel begins to dump overboard thru the vent line.
2. The air from the muffler will be blowing bubbles into your fuel constantly and may be causing your problem. Lots of foaming fuel in the tank.
