RE: Spektrum DX-7
Just curious what folks are hearing about reliability of the new 2.4 spectrum stuff. Initially some of us old timers were a bit skeptical about the 2.4 range and performance but we have been gaining confidence as we see guys flying 40-lb TOC birds, jets, choppers etc without problem. An event witnessed today kinda rolls back my enthusiam---a gent lost his Extreme Yak 54, basically went into a dive from 75ft---locked up or fail-safed or whatever these do. Pilot very skilled 3D etc, no dumb thumbs here. Not much left, at least $1000 loss. Batteries, switch, connectors all appeared healthy (at least what was left), all new top-end stuff, installation was superb, etc but who knows. We are left wondering about the radio link---everything I read seems to scream total success/no problem with this equipment----is that the whole story or do some of you have stories like mine......just curious.
