After you set you restart time to a longer time, and you are able to knock off a wing, see if you can land it, or at least get it on the ground in a reasonable manner. It is possible, but you have to stay on top of it, and not try to do to much at once. if you do crash, you can hit the spacebar, and that will reset the flight and you can start all over without having to wait for the time to run out.
