RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
I like that engine. Might be good in the new 8ight Truggy. Except I probably wouldn't buy that Truggy due to the problems with the 8ight Buggy.
I'm now confused with my servo issue. I removed the radio tray and took out the throttle servo. I moved the gears back and forth a couple times and plugged it in just to see what it would do. Now it works perfectly again. It must have been binding or had some electrical problem. I know it won't last but I can't take it back when it works. Now I'll have to spend more money on a new one and I'll end up keeping this one but I can't use it, I don't think I can anyway.
All the setups tht have been talked about and shown I've done with the exception of heat tape. Heat isn't the problem though as my first one went out sitting on the bench with the lid off. Wasn't even running. The LHS techs were helping me set it up. It worked for a few minutes while they made adjustments and then it just stopped. That one I attribute to the junky 270 servo. I wouldn't put that one on a airplane throttle. I am thinking the servo binds against the battery box and possibly bottoms out on hard landings since it sits to close to the chassis plate. I'm going to try and raise it up a little which is what the tray stiffeners are actually good for. But I will stick some heat tape on the next servo and recheck my endpoints, screws, linkage and such like I always do before I run and then hope for the best.
I know horizon blows on this one. Their advice is heat tape, rubber grommets and cutting the spring 1/4, Well DUHHHHH. They read that here and on other forums because when asked directly what they have found out they haven't a clue. Their words today were the exact same as a month ago. Other than that they don't offer a single thing except they'll give me another 270 servo when I return the one I had. [&o]
