Its recomended but I didnt put it on till i had to take the motor off to clean it then when putting it back on I put thread locker on but you should be fine for a few days till you clean it then apply it while everythings off and you have to put it back togehter anyway and incase you dont know only apply it to screws thant go into aluminum or metal
