I had a sportster 2 or 3 years ago, it can be quite fast, and lands like you describe. Aerobatics wise it's ok. It couples badly, and depending on cg may (or may not) take a lot of down to hold inverted. I had the gear in the wing. I sold it to a pal who lost his plane in a crash. He changed the gear to the fuselage, and the ground handling was much better. If I built another, I'd put slightly larger tapered ailerons with two servos. I'd do some work on the rudder, and elevators too. The elevators are pretty good for this kind of plane, but could be a bit better. Maybe the same over all horizontal surface area, just airbalanced elevators. The rudder wasn't as srtong, and I'd probably go 125% with more area below the center. Beyond that I'd try to take some weight off. But I'm still thinking about doing another. It's a good all around sport plane.
